News

Ann Rigney guest speaker on the Connecting Memories Podcast

Her talk is entitled ‘The Afterlife of Hope: how the killing of demonstrators is remembered.’

In her presentation and in the discussion that follows, Ann Rigney talks about cultural memory in connection with activism and social movements as well as ways of moving away from thinking about the past primarily in terms of trauma. As the podcast focuses on how social movements remember activists and earlier movements, it frequently links up with recent protests and the Black Lives Matter movement.
